Swedish mine first to extract iron ore for fossil-free steel
If all goes well, Dannemora will become the greenest mine in the world and be able to extract fossil-free steel. This means that the iron ore that is extracted is sufficiently pure, i.e. 68 percent.
In May, it is planned to start negotiations with the Land and Environment Court, and then a decision is expected after about a month. When it is completed, it is full speed to finish the rest of the work in the mine before it is time to start. ”There are conditions to get operations up and running again in record time. Now, in addition, the sale of the planned production to a corresponding value of SEK 15 billion is already ready,” says Christer Lindqvist, CEO of Grängesberg Exploration.
