The Land and Environmental Court gives permission for the restart of the Dannemora mine

GRANGEX is pleased to announce that today the Land and Environmental Court in Nacka has issued a verdict. The Land and Environmental Court approves the environmental impact statement, completes the environmental assessment and grants Dannemora Iron AB permission for mining operations, etc. and water operations at the Dannemora mine in Östhammar municipality according to ch. 9 and 11. the environmental code.

”It is a historic day for the Dannemora mine and of course GRANGEX. To receive a positive verdict in less than a year from the time we submitted our application to the Land and Environmental Court shows good preparatory work and a well-executed permit process. Now the way is open to complete the financing of the construction project and continue the procurement and preparations for the start of construction this autumn with a planned start of production in 2025. Then we will be the first producer of green ore concentrate as a raw material for the production of fossil-free steel.” says Christer Lindqvist CEO of GRANGEX.
